A large number of Indian youth have undergone skill development training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. So far half of the certificates associated with this training have been given to women. The Maternity Benefit Act has been amended to maintain the presence of women in the workforce. Under this, the period of mandatory leave related to maternity leave for working women has been increased to 26 weeks. This empowers working women. Because they no longer need to fear losing their salary or employment due to the birth of a child. In addition, they will have ample time to recover from childbirth and breastfeed their child.

 

To bring the unorganized sector also under this protection, cash is also provided to the pregnant and lactating women under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. As a partial compensation for the loss of wages, these mothers are given Rs 6000 as incentives, so that they can get enough rest before and after delivery. This will also give them an opportunity to breastfeed their baby. More than 38 lakh beneficiaries have already been added to this scheme.

 

Reaching women in senior and senior positions is a positive step towards recognizing the qualifications of capable women. Along with this, institutions are also being made more and more women-friendly. The participation of women in large positions in public and private companies and on the boards of companies is being promoted. Under which 3 lakh students will be able to directly reach those women at the village level with voluntary government schemes and services. The government insists that no woman be left behind from this period of empowerment. Existing schemes are being implemented with their full potential. And in all these, special attention is being paid to the backward areas, so that the women at the lowest level can experience tremendous improvement in their situation. The road ahead for the empowerment of women will be based on the belief that instead of women's development, there should be development led by women.

 

Women need a safe and friendly environment, which promotes empowerment. They should be able to live without fear so that they can explore their potential and artificial obstacles do not come in their way. With this, we need to pursue positive policies so that women can be brought to an equal level with the rest. If Indian women get the right opportunities, then there are immense possibilities.
